Mum of six, Kate Ball initially started Mini First Aid in 2014 from her kitchen table in Leeds, offering high quality baby & child first aid classes to parents and carers. Demand grew and Kate saw the potential for growth, so she started franchising the business in 2015. In 2021, BBC Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies, also saw the huge potential in Mini First Aid and she came on board as an investor and adviser. Mini First Aid is now a multi-award-winning organisation and has almost 70 franchises nationwide.
Hi, I'm Andrea, mum to two rugby mad boys, so no stranger to the perils of childhood incidents. From cuts & bruises to broken bones I understand the necessity for all parents and carers to be confident in first aid. I put my parents through quite a few hair raising first aid "moments" growing up and my two boys seem to have followed my accident prone ways!! Since launching Mini First Aid Lancashire in 2016 I have had the pleasure of training thousands of new parents, grandparents, carers and children. I love being able to help people feel more confident dealing with life’s little lumps and bumps. Teaching children has become a real passion of mine and I think it is vitally important to start teaching them about first aid from a young age. I work with many schools across Lancashire, helping them to introduce first aid to their children. Our sessions are memorable, engaging, fun and interactive. We also provide Qualification Courses covering both Paediatric and Workplace First Aid. I love what I do, and it is refreshing to be able to bring lifesaving skills to everyone in a friendly, relaxed environment. I want to make sure that every one in Lancashire has the basic first aid skills to potentially save a life.
Hi, I’m Michelle. I’m mum to two boys who love adventure and think they’re invincible. As a mum I’ve been there to help and support both boys through all sorts of childhood accidents and illnesses: from the typical childhood illnesses such as chicken pox, and through various cuts, bruises and even broken bones. I’ve also had the scary experience of having to call 999. My youngest son is a burns survivor, having experienced a very significant burn when he was just 15 months old. It is the years of recovery from this traumatic event, and my passion for helping other burn survivors and their families, that has led me into the wonderful world of Mini First Aid. I feel totally committed to helping children and parents, grandparents and carers to become knowledgeable and skilled in keeping children safe, and then empowered to act when accidents and illnesses do occur. I love working with Andrea delivering fun, memorable and interactive sessions to the people of Lancashire. I am a qualified teacher, and being able to use my skills to teach first aid, and educate others so that they can save lives, is a real privilege!
